Cockatoo Coal Limited was incorporated on 28 January 2005 under the laws of the State of New South Wales, Australia. The Company’s headquarters are in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

 

The Company successfully completed a $20.0 million IPO on 19 December 2005, issuing 100 million new fully paid ordinary shares and was granted official quotation by the Australian Stock Exchange Limited ('ASX').

 

Since IPO, the Company has grown rapidly through a combination of positive exploration results and targeted corporate development activities.

 

As at 1 May 2008, Cockatoo Coal’s key features included:

·          $400m (approximate) market capitalisation,

·          17-tenement portfolio in the Surat and Bowen basins of Queensland,

·          5 major ‘downstream’ coal buying concerns in strategic positions on the share register,

·          $55m cash at bank, with

·          nil debt. 


Projects

 

Cockatoo Coal Limited listed in 2005 with an initial 4-tenement portfolio, 2 each in the highly regarded Bowen and Surat Basin coal bearing provinces of Queensland, respectively. A further 5000km2, 15-tenement portfolio was acquired from July 2007 to January 2008, with several of these leases in proximity to Cockatoo’s existing Surat Basin projects.
