Cockatoo Coal Limited (Cockatoo) (ASX: COK) is a rapidly growing Australian metallurgical coal producer, operating a ultra low-volatile PCI mine in central Queensland. Cockatoo has been expanding operations in Baralaba to 3.5 Mtpa of product coal, up from current approvals of 1 Mtpa. Cockatoo has also been advancing emerging coal projects in Queensland, possessing a significant portfolio of pipeline development opportunities in the Bowen, Galilee and Surat Basins.
Highlights for September 2015 Quarter
- Cost reduction program continuing in response to further declines in benchmark PCI prices.
Cumulative cost reductions to date circa $30 per tonne
- Post Quarter end – Record monthly sales of 291,994 tonnes in October
- Construction of the new train load out facility and balloon loop > 95% complete
- Commenced construction of the Dawson Highway Overpass
